Aluminum-Alloy Body and Steel Frame
Over 16 million kilometres of cumulative testing went into refining the F-150. The result? For starters, a cab and box fabricated from high-strength, military-grade^, 600-series aluminum alloys, then a fully boxed frame with eight crossmembers (five through-welded) made of up to 78 percent high-strength steel.
2nd Gen 3.5L EcoBoost® Engine
The all-new, 2nd-generation 3.5L EcoBoost® engine delivers a best-in-class 470 lb.-ft. of torque. This all-new engine is teamed with a game changing, Ford built, 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission for exceptional driveability.
With improved acceleration, plus better low-end and peak performance, our most advanced EcoBoost engine yet is exactly what’s needed for hauling heavy loads and towing heavy trailers. To optimize fuel usage, standard Auto Start-Stop Technology can shut off the engine when the truck comes to a complete stop.
